Objective :


The Education Department of KMC has launched a new programme called “Each One Teach One” , under which private schools have been invited to mentor at least one school in their vicinity with the holistic development of the KMPC School Children as the target.

The Education Department has appointed KKMERS ( Kalyan Kumar Mitra Education & Research Society) as facilitators purely on voluntary basis for the implementation and coordination amongst the schools under this project.

The KMC run 260 primary schools from 175 premises, attended by approximately 20,000/- students and 800 teachers. These students are from the financially weakest section of city`s population and consequently they also suffer from circumstantial difficulties like habitation on streets, migration and ostracization because of their mothers being sex-workers.

In the above circumstances co-operation in the following areas are solicited from private schools :-

a.

Transfer of expertise in terms of teaching-learning practices and class room instruction

b.

Healthy interaction between of KMCP Schools and those of your schools

c.

Participation of our children in various educational and extra-curricular activities of your school

d.

Taking classes by your teachers or meritorious senior students in our schools occasionally

e.

Intensive coaching of poor and slow learning students

f.

Participation as an integral part in the Expert/Advisory committee of the school to formulate and effective school development plan

It needs to be clarified in this regard that :-

a.

The KMC school will continue to be the property of the KMC

b.

As per the RTE Act the school management remains with the KMC

c.

Teachers employed by KMC will remain

d.

No financial help is being solicited


  • The teachers from the private schools may instruct the KMCP School students to make charts and models of the topics that they study in different subjects. This will make the subjects and studying as a whole, interesting and attractive to the students. Charts and models which may not be required any m ore by the private school can be gives to the KMCP Schools.
  • KMC schools have very few craft and art teachers to teach the children these skills.
  • KMCP school children have never been exposed to the performing arts. The private schools may be asked to arrange music, dance and drama classes for KMCP school children. Staging of cultural programmes, jointly by the two schools can be a possible corollary to the above.
  • Joint sporting events and quiz programmes may also be held.
  • Children of KMCP Schools can attend sports, exhibition or fairs etc held in private schools.
